In side-quests, players can explore the open-world environment as they see fit. Movement can be done on foot, horseback, camel-back, or boat throughout the world. One can unlock weapons and equipment as one progresses through the game.

In this installment, the “eagle vision” mode, which gives players the ability to scout an area by highlighting enemies and objects, has been replaced by a Bonelli’s eagle named Senu which serves as a companion.
