Xubuntu-based Freespire 9.0 With XFCE 4.18 now Available

Freespire 9.0 release with XFCE 4.18, Linux kernel 5.15, and GIMP 2.10.32 has been announced for general availability. Freespire is a Xubuntu-based Linux distribution Operating system. Xubuntu is an operating system that is based on Ubuntu but uses the Xfce desktop environment instead of GNOME. While Ubuntu in turn is a Linux distribution based on the Debian operating system.

Freespire 9.0 is an open source distro based on Xubuntu 22.04 LTS and comes with the goal of having stability and functionality in mind with all security updates up to January 17 2023 available in the ISO. Freespire 9.0 also does not include any proprietary codecs or software code that is not open source. The operating system does not restrict proprietary software and therefore are available in the Ubuntu repositories.
