GIMP 2.10.24 Release With Off-canvas Point Snapping now Available

GIMP 2.10.24 release is now available mostly as a bug fix release, mostly with file format support improvements and off-canvas point snapping.

GIMP the open source Photoshop competitor brings these updates ahead of the anticipated GIMP 3.

Some of the major improvements include:

Off-canvas point snapping: This allows many features can now work outside the canvas primarily the snapping of various tools to guides, grids, or vectors outside the canvas area.

Metadata support: This expands new enhancements to the metadata viewer and editor within areas such as duplicate tags, mapping equivalency between similar IPTC and XMP tags, better encoding handling, and more.

GeoTIFF Support: With this improved support, users can now import and export back the GeoTIFF tags.

Image format improvements: The following image file formats have received significant improvements. TIFF, HEIF, PNG, JPEG, BMP, PDF, DDS, and Raw.
