Adobe Premiere Pro is a popular and powerful video editing and production tool. It is a timeline-based and non-linear video editing (NLE) software application developed by Adobe Inc. It is published as part of the Adobe Creative Cloud suite of software applications.
Adobe Premiere Pro was first launched in 2003 as the successor of Adobe Premiere which in turn was first launched in 1991 with its final version being released in 2002. It was originally developed at SuperMac Technology as ReelTime, a QuickTime-based video editor for its VideoSpigot video capture card.
The project was then acquired by Adobe Systems in August 1991 and was renamed Adobe Premiere. In 2003 Adobe Premiere Pro was released as a completely rewritten version of Adobe Premiere.
Adobe Premiere Pro is designed for professional video editing with Adobe Premiere Elements, it’s less feature-packed sibling targeting the consumer market.
