Freeware is software that is usually proprietary and distributed completely free as-is. In contrast to open-source software, the source code for Freeware programs is usually not distributed with the binaries. The model of Freeware varies but is usually used as a way of encouraging sales of other software or enhanced versions of the same software by the same publisher.
