A hard disk drive (HDD) is a non-volatile computer storage medium used to permanently store and retrieve data in computing devices. The hard disk drive which is also known as secondary memory consists of platters in which data is stored using a magnetic head.
The drive connects to the computer motherboard through ATA, SCSI, or SATA interfaces.
