Near-field communication, commonly known as NFC is a set of communication protocols that enables wireless communication between two electronic devices over a distance of 4 cm (11⁄2 in) or less. Near-field communication is ideal for use as electronic identity documents, keycards, contactless payment systems, as well as sharing small files between the devices.
