Object Linking & Embedding (OLE)

Object Linking & Embedding (OLE) is a proprietary technology created by Microsoft that allows embedding and linking to documents and other objects. It allows extensions via OLE Control Extension (OCX) through custom user interface elements. OLE is used for transferring data between different applications using drag and drop and clipboard operations.
