A solid-state drive, also called SSD is a type of storage device that uses integrated circuits called flash memory to store data persistently. A Solid State Drive performs the same functions as hard disk drives (HDDs) in computers but performs significantly faster in comparison. This results in a much quicker operating system boot-up time with programs loading faster and files being be saved faster.
