A couple of days ago the story broke out that Avast is taking over AVG. These are two of Europe’s biggest anti-virus companies founded in the former Czechoslovakia Republic. So what has Czechoslovakia got to do with Goma Air?
Well, Goma Air one of Nepal’s youngest airline companies flying to Lukla on the Mount Everest Expedition trails operates the Let L-410 Turbolet, a twin-engine short-range transport aircraft, manufactured by the Czech aircraft manufacturer LET.
What About Goma Air
This is more about my second Mount Everest expedition when I had the privilege of flying from Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu to Tenzing–Hillary Airport in Lukla and back. As usual, those who have flown that route will attest to the fact that it can get really bumpy the closer you get to the Himalayas mountain range.
This was one of the smoothest flights I have experienced on that route and the highlight was a really smooth landing on both trips. I managed to catch a video of the return trip after the Nepal earthquake landing at the airport in Kathmandu amidst the infrastructure destruction beneath us. Watch and enjoy below.
