OpenCL 3.0 Release is now Available for Download

The new OpenCL 3.0 release has been announced for general availability. This release comes with new features and improvements.

It also realigns the OpenCL roadmap to enable developer-requested functionality to be broadly deployed by hardware vendors.

This new version now integrates subgroup functionality into the core specification. A new OpenCL C 3.0 language specification is also available with this release allowing for a new class of embedded processors.

OpenCL (Open Computing Language) is an open, royalty-free standard from Khronos for cross-platform, parallel programming of diverse, heterogeneous accelerators found in supercomputers, cloud servers, personal computers, mobile devices and embedded platforms.

This standard improves the speed and responsiveness of a wide spectrum of applications within the professional creative tools, scientific and medical software, vision processing, and neural network training and inferencing.
