It is official, after reports of exploding smartphones, a replacement then spontaneous combustion Samsung is finally throwing in the towel on the Samsung Galaxy Note 7.
The embattled phone is supposed to be the current flagship product for the company and has been in a literal hellhole since shipping the first batch of 2.5 million units.
The Problem With the Galaxy Note 7
Things got really bad for Samsung when reports emerged of exploding phone units. Samsung was quick and honest to admit there was an issue and pulled out a recall on the units which they later started shipping replacements.
Things got worse when one of the replacement units started smoking on a Southwest Airlines plane. Around the same time, there was another report of another Galaxy Note 7 spontaneously combusting. The scary thing about these new cases is that they were not even plugged into the charger.
What with airlines across the industry banning the taking of these phone on a flight and now the replacements proving to be no solution to the matter Samsung has had to pull the plug on its flagship device.
The timing could not have come at a worse time seeing all this is happening when Apple released the competing iPhone 7 and when Google is hot on their heels with the Google pixel phone.
