Unity 2020.1 Release is now Available for Immediate Use

Unity 2020.1 release has been announced and is now available with a wide range of features and improvements. This news comes on the heels of the inclusion of Bolt visual scripting in Unity packages.

Some of the highlights with this Unity release come with a new Package Manager experience which includes a new user interface, new iconography, and improved layout. There is also the labeling of packages that are in production or preview stages.

There are several importer improvements with custom properties for objects originating from SketchUp. The new Asset Import Pipeline v2 is now the new default and comes with support for serialized files larger than 2 GB.

The Profiler can now be run as a standalone app, which reduces the performance overhead. There is also a new C# debugging workflow that allows creators to easily switch between release and Debug modes with Burst Compiler 1.3 now being available and adds native debugging capabilities and a 2D animation performance boost.

The GPU and CPU Lightmapper has now got improved sampling. Camera Stacking is now supported to layer the output of multiple Cameras. Cinemachine version 2.5 is now a verified package.
