Ethan stated that Bandcamp will keep operating as a standalone marketplace and music community, and he will continue in his current capacity as CEO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bandcamp is an Oakland, California, US, internet music company founded in 2008 by Oddpost co-founder Ethan Diamond and programmers Shawn Grunberger, Joe Holt, and Neal Tucker. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The service allows artists and labels to upload music to Bandcamp and control how they sell it, setting their own prices, including offering users the option to pay more and selling merchandise. Artists and labels on Bandcamp enjoy an 82% revenue share.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Epic Games, better known for games such as Fortnite, Gears of War, Rocket League, and the development of Unreal Engine and Bandcamp share a mission of building the most artist-friendly platform that enables creators to keep the majority of their hard-earned money. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bandcamp will play an important role in Epic\u2019s vision to build out a creator marketplace ecosystem for content, technology, games, art, music, and more.
