This new version comes with several improvements and bug fixes alike.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/\/local.brightwhiz\/tag\/mariadb\/\">MariaDB<\/a> is an open source drop-in replacement <a href=\"\/\/local.brightwhiz\/tag\/database\/\">database<\/a> for <a href=\"\/\/local.brightwhiz\/tag\/oracle\/\">Oracle<\/a>&#8216;s <a href=\"\/\/local.brightwhiz\/tag\/mysql\/\">MySQL<\/a>. It is available in all major platforms and supports several storage engines among other features.<!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>Highlights in the new MariaDB 10.1.14 Stable<\/h2>\n<p>First off, notable changes in MariaDB 10.1.14 Stable include the updating of XtraDb and InnoDB storage engines. The Engines now used are XtraDB-5.6.29-76.2 and InnoDB-5.6.30. The Performance Schema updated to 5.6.30.<\/p>\n<p>Another important thing to note is that support for Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 has been dropped.<\/p>\n<p>Also updated is the repositories for Debian &#8220;Sid&#8221; and the new release Ubuntu 16.04 &#8220;Xenial&#8221;. These now use the new SHA2 GPG signing key.\u00a0 SHA1 keys now post warnings.<\/p>\n<p>The rest of the changes in this new MariaDB are bug fixes and performance improvements across the board.
