For the past one year, Microsoft has been flaunting the free Windows 10 upgrade for those using genuine copies of all versions of Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1. Well the reason goes they have this vision of 1 Billion users by this and that date, you know how it goes.

Well, one year later Microsoft hasn’t quite made that target. They are about 30% on their Windows 10 target.

First off I must say that this is a great new operating system and if you ask me I would recommend you get the free or paid upgrade. It all depends on how good you are or were at procrastination that will determine how much you fork out for it.

Don’t get me wrong. There are many compelling reasons not to upgrade to Windows 10 and we will cover those reasons in a different article just to be partial.

So I will skip on that and get right down to giving compelling reasons to upgrade to Windows 10.

First-off time is of the essence here. Time has all but runs out to get the Windows 10 free upgrade. So get cracking already.

You might be pleased to know this operating system is keeping up with the times too. It is far more lightweight than its predecessors. The result boots up in a flash though it still doesn’t boot up as fast as computers older than the past generations of the eighties going back.

The Desktop experience is super improved over the mess that came with Windows 8. At least you get a visible Start Button and those pesky tiles don’t grab every corner of your valuable desktop. The user experience takes a little getting used to but all-in-all it is much more intuitive and once you go Windows 10 you ain’t going back.

Mac has Retina displays… Well, Windows 10 comes with improved high-resolution monitor support. Better support for modern drivers for tools and software. In short majority of the software vendors are dropping support for older Windows versions and Windows 7 so happens to be next on the chopping block. It may just be wise to upgrade.

Did I mention you can copy paste into the console? Well, in case I didn’t there you have it.

Security on Windows 10 has been beefed up. Notably is the Windows 10 UEFI Secure Boot requirement. That protects against low-level rootkits. When you get past that you’ve got the Firewall and the Windows Defender antivirus to give you some sort of comfort. Get passed that you’ll find native support for protecting against malicious websites.

For the gamers and graphics enthusiasts like me, Windows 10 ships with DirectX 12, OpenGL 4.5 and of course it is fully compatible with Vulkan. These alone brings a new level of detail and visual effects on compatible PC games.

Universal Windows apps is another hot feature found in Windows 10. In simple terms is these apps run on Windows 10 which is found across multiple devices including PCs, Windows Phones, Xbox One and more. One benefit of this is that your games will be able to run on both Windows 10 and the Xbox One and share all the benefits across the different platforms seamlessly.

Wind Apple devices there is Siri. With Windows you get Cortana. With a touch of good humor, Cortana is your virtual companion, assistant and slave all rolled into one. Basically, it can help you get more out of your Windows 10 by helping with news feeds, reminders, plan trips and much more. Yap! That’s coming with the anniversary update this August.

Let me not take too much of your time with this article while you could be getting your upgrade started. Until next time, happy upgrading. Go to the Microsoft website and get the details there.

For the past one year, Microsoft has been flaunting the free Windows 10 upgrade for those using genuine copies of all versions of Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1….

[2,28,16
319,431,433,449,646,653

So why are Users Slow to Upgrade to Windows 10
