It is now official that Advanced Micro Devices are better known as AMD<\/a> has announced a new Radeon <\/a>RX Graphics Processing Unit (GPU<\/a>). The GPU in question is the Radeon RX 470. This comes after a couple of months of the release of the Radeon RX 480 and a couple of days after Radeon RX 460<\/a>.<\/p>\n AMD has been in competition with their biggest rivals NVIDIA <\/a>to control the GPU market segments. This announcement is a boost to the consumers just as much as AMD.<\/p>\n These new GPU comes with power-packed features that usher in a new era of gaming on PCs.\u00a0 The Radeon RX cards are built on the Polaris <\/a>GPU architecture <\/a>which combines the latest FinFET 14 process technology and AMD\u2019s advanced power, gating and clock technologies.<\/p>\n The Radeon RX 470 is optimized for gaming on 1080p up to 60fps with anti-aliasing<\/a> enabled. The display engine has native support for HDR, HDMI\u00ae 2.0 and Display Port (1.4 HDR Ready).<\/p>\n DirectX<\/a> 12, OpenGL<\/a> 4.5 and Vulkan <\/a>are all available with this new graphics card. Radeon RX 470 allows the consumer to stream and record games at 4K, H.265, 60 FPS as well.<\/p>\n On the hardware side, the Radeon RX 470 packs 32 compute units, 2048 stream processors with a peak performance of up to 4.9 TFLOPs. The memory bandwidth is capped at 211 GB per second while the memory interface is 256 bit.<\/p>\n The memory capacity and type is 4096 MB, 6.6 Gbps GDDR5. The motherboard interface on this card is PCI-Express 3.0 x16. This GPU is expected to be available as from August 4th.
