This release has also been made available concurrently with the release of <a href=\"http:\/\/local.brightwhiz\/qt-5-8-release-announced\/\">Qt 5.8<\/a>. It comes with optimizations for some of the new features available in the new framework release.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Qt Creator is a free and <a href=\"\/\/local.brightwhiz\/tag\/open-source\/\">open source<\/a>, cross-platform <a href=\"\/\/local.brightwhiz\/tag\/ides\/\">Integrated Development Environment<\/a> (IDE) for the Qt Framework. It is a <a href=\"\/\/local.brightwhiz\/tag\/cplusplus\/\">C\/C++<\/a>, <a href=\"\/\/local.brightwhiz\/tag\/qml\/\">QML <\/a>and <a href=\"\/\/local.brightwhiz\/tag\/javascript\/\">JavaScript <\/a>centric development tool that can be used to develop applications for a wide selection of targets including mobile devices such as the <a href=\"\/\/local.brightwhiz\/tag\/android\/\">Android<\/a>, IOS and <a href=\"\/\/local.brightwhiz\/tag\/windows\/\">Windows <\/a>based devices as well as Desktop and <a href=\"\/\/local.brightwhiz\/tag\/embedded\/\">embedded <\/a>systems.<\/p>\n<p>A major fix in this release is the fix to the <a href=\"\/\/local.brightwhiz\/tag\/ios\/\">IOS<\/a> simulator for its Xcode 8 support. You can get a full list of updates from the change log page <a href=\"https:\/\/code.qt.io\/cgit\/qt-creator\/qt-creator.git\/tree\/dist\/changes-4.2.1.md?h=4.2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>You can get a copy of Qt Creator 4.2.1 from the official download page <a href=\"https:\/\/www.qt.io\/download-open-source\/#section-9\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.
