{"id":4074,"date":"2017-02-21T12:02:52","date_gmt":"2017-02-21T17:02:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/local.brightwhiz\/?p=4074"},"modified":"2017-02-21T12:02:52","modified_gmt":"2017-02-21T17:02:52","slug":"poco-1-7-8-release-available","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/local.brightwhiz\/poco-1-7-8-release-available\/","title":{"rendered":"Poco 1.7.8 Release is now Available for Download"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>POCO 1.7.8 Release has been announced for immediate availability as a maintenance release bringing in improvements and bug fixes.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/\/local.brightwhiz\/tag\/poco\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">POCO<\/a> is is an open source <a href=\"\/\/local.brightwhiz\/tag\/cplusplus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">C++<\/a> class <a href=\"\/\/local.brightwhiz\/tag\/libraries\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">library<\/a> which is used to develop a network and Internet-based applications. These applications can run on multiple platforms including Desktop, Servers, <a href=\"\/\/local.brightwhiz\/tag\/mobile\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mobile<\/a> and <a href=\"\/\/local.brightwhiz\/tag\/embedded\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Embedded<\/a> devices.<\/p>\n<p>This release comes on the day Twelve years after the initial release back in 2005. POCO uses standard ANSI C++ and is designed to use little or no external dependencies. It is written in modern code and is modular in design.<\/p>\n<h2>Highlights of the POCO 1.7.8 Release<\/h2>\n<p>First, off zlib, <a href=\"\/\/local.brightwhiz\/tag\/sqlite\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SQLite<\/a>, PCRE, and double-conversion libraries have been updated to their latest versions. <a href=\"\/\/local.brightwhiz\/tag\/mongodb\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MongoDB<\/a> library has also gotten some improvements as well as some bug fixes. Net and Zip libraries have also gotten the same treatment in having being improved and a couple of fixes.<\/p>\n<p>Other fixes can be found in the Client WebSocket Handshake and URI encoding. Alpine 3.4 gets a bug fix. The build failure in OS X 10.12 SDK has been fixed as well as issues with Latin2ncoding fixes and an issue with IPv6.<\/p>\n<p>For these and other fixes, you can check out the official changelog <a href=\"https:\/\/raw.github.com\/pocoproject\/poco\/poco-1.7.8-release\/CHANGELOG\">here<\/a>.
