The latest Node v7.8.0 (current) release has been announced for general availability. It is available for immediate download and update through the official avenues.

This update comes with a modest number of bug fixes and improvements over the previous versions.

Node.Js is a free and open source JavaScript runtime built on Google Chrome’s V8 JavaScript engine which uses an event driven, non-blocking I/O model.

Under crypto, there was a memory leak when a certificate was revoked. That has been fixed now. Under the readline module there is a new option that stops duplicates in history.

Under buffer there was a segfault on out-of-range indexes that has now been fixed. Within the dependencies npm has been upgraded to version 4.2.0. There is also a fix in async within the V8 engine.

Node is available in both 32-bit and 64-bit platforms for Windows, macOS, Linux, SunOS and AIX (64-bit) among others. Node can also be downloaded in source form.

Highlights of the new Node v7.8.0 (Current) Release
