Bloomberg has released their C++ libraries for large-scale commercial applications. The BDE short for Basic Development Environment has been released under a permissive open source license.<\/p>\n
It is composed of two major libraries namely BSL (Basic Standard Library) and BDL (Basic Development Library). The release of BDE 3.0 is done to encourage the C++ developer community to experiment and enhance the library and derivatives. The\u00a0Basic Development Environment is used in production at Bloomberg and covers a wide array of purposes such as messaging, process control via named pipes, threading, assorted utility classes, time zone information, and network transport library among others.<\/p>\n
