The upcoming Open edX Conference 2024 is set to take place from July 2nd to July 5th at Stellenbosch University in Cape Town, South Africa. This annual event will bring together global leaders in educational technology, including technologists, government representatives, educators, and EdTech enthusiasts.<\/p>\n

The conference will feature a variety of sessions and activities:<\/p>\n

  1. Workshops and Tutorials<\/strong>: The event kicks off on July 2nd with 90-minute interactive workshops and tutorial sessions covering topics such as product management, platform usage, instructional design, and more. These sessions are designed to be hands-on to ensure attendees fully grasp the topics discussed.<\/li>\n
  2. Keynotes and Speaker Sessions<\/strong>: On July 3rd and 4th, attendees will hear from keynote speakers and participate in sessions featuring 45-minute talks and 10-minute lightning talks. These presentations will cover innovative uses of the Open edX platform, including the latest advancements in instructional design and the integration of emerging technologies like AI.<\/li>\n
  3. Community Town Hall and Networking<\/strong>: The final day, July 5th, will include a Community Town Hall, working group meetings, and ample networking opportunities. A final celebration will cap off the event.<\/li>\n
  4. Social Events<\/strong>: In addition to formal sessions, there will be a cocktail reception on the evening of July 3rd to facilitate informal networking.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Registration for the conference includes meals and refreshments throughout the event. Early bird discounts are available until April 17th, 2024.<\/p>\n

    For those interested in presenting, the call for proposals is open until January 17th, 2024. Prospective speakers are encouraged to submit their proposals early for feedback.<\/p>\n
