Gmail Settings for Incoming and Outgoing Servers

Google’s Gmail service allows users to gain email client access for retrieving and sending emails without having to log into your account online. This can be done through configuring Gmail settings.

You can check your Gmail emails using other email clients such as Microsoft Outlook, Apple Mail, Zimbra, and Mozilla Thunderbird, it really doesn’t matter as long as the client supports POP or IMAP

This can be done by configuring the correct Gmail settings in your preferred client.

Incoming Mail (IMAP) Server imap.gmail.com Requires SSL: Yes Port: 993
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server smtp.gmail.com Requires SSL: Yes Requires TLS: Yes (if available) Requires Authentication: Yes Port for SSL: 465 Port for TLS/STARTTLS: 587
