Kitware has announced the availability of CMake 3.7.0 for immediate availability. The release comes with some improvements, fixes and a few new additions.
CMake is an open-source build system that manages the build process in an operating system and in a compiler-independent manner. It works in conjunction with the native build system. It generates native build environments that will compile source code, create libraries, generate wrappers and build executables.
Highlights of the new CMake 3.7.0
CMake 3.7.0 supports Cross Compiling for Android with simple toolchain files while the Clang compiler is now supported on AIX. There are also new features in the “Ninja” generator. The “Visual Studio 15” generator has been added as an experimental feature.
