Nintendo finally dropped the ball on their new game console codenamed “NX” scheduled to hit the markets in March 2017. They released a video showcasing the features of this new console named Nintendo Switch.
The console is something new and brings reminders to the days of the introduction of the Wii a few years ago. The console happens to be a cross between the Nintendo DS and the WiiU.
Yes! Basically it is a console that you can use it like a normal game console connected to your TV or you can unplug it and take it with you on the go.
The device comes with the Joy controller and the console itself. There is a portable display unit that slides into the console to use for this very purpose.
The left and right sides of the controller can be removed and attached to the display unit completing all that you need for your gaming needs. The beauty is the same game can be played on the go as in the living room.
The display unit comes with its stand so you can also place it on a surface for more convenience. I know what you are thinking… the controllers are really tiny, well, it seems Nintendo thought of that already. The Nintendo Switch also ships with a full-size controller for those who prefer it.
It supports the pairing of devices for multiplayer games.
Behind the Nintendo Switch Scenes
The Nintendo Switch is powered by a custom NVIDIA Tegra GPU processor. It has a revamped physics engine, new game tools, and libraries. NVIDIA built a brand new API specifically for this device. One wonders why NVIDIA didn’t opt for existing graphics and game APIs such as DirectX 11 or DirectX 12, Vulkan Metal, or OpenGL.
