Node v7.8.0 Release is now Available

The latest Node v7.8.0 (current) release has been announced for general availability. It is available for immediate download and update through the official avenues.

This update comes with a modest number of bug fixes and improvements over the previous versions.

Node.Js is a free and open source JavaScript runtime built on Google Chrome’s V8 JavaScript engine which uses an event driven, non-blocking I/O model.

Highlights of the new Node v7.8.0 (Current) Release

Under crypto, there was a memory leak when a certificate was revoked. That has been fixed now. Under the readline module there is a new option that stops duplicates in history.

Under buffer there was a segfault on out-of-range indexes that has now been fixed. Within the dependencies npm has been upgraded to version 4.2.0. There is also a fix in async within the V8 engine.

Node is available in both 32-bit and 64-bit platforms for Windows, macOS, Linux, SunOS and AIX (64-bit) among others. Node can also be downloaded in source form.
