The release of Qt Creator 4.1.0 has been announced for general availability. This release comes after months of development and testing with the prior Alpha and Beta versions.
Qt Creator is an open-source Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for developing cross-platform applications in C and C++. You can also use it to develop in JavaScript and QML.
It comes with a visual editor, code completion, build tools and much more.
Highlights of Qt Creator 4.1.0
Flat Light and Flat Dark themes are now part of this release. Included too is more color schemes added to the editor.
Code completion has now been improved in the editor especially to do will closing code blocks. There is experimental support for the Nim programming language that now ships with Qt Creator.
On the C++ side, Clang 3.8.1 is now used for the binary packages which now works better with MSVC2015 Update 3.
Qt Quick and CMake support get several improvements as with almost every other area of this IDE. You can check out the full changelog here.
You can download your copy of Qt Creator 4.1.0 from the Qt download page for the open source versions. For those using the commercial version, the packages can be found on the Qt Account Portal here. Those with the Qt maintenance tool can also update Qt Creator 4.1.0 directly through there.
