Replacing both AndroidWorks and Tegra Android Development Pack, NVIDIA has recently announced the general availability of NVIDIA CodeWorks for Android 1R3 for immediate download.
NVIDIA CodeWorks for Android 1R3 introduces the benefits of Tegra powered devices to most current Android devices.
NVIDIA CodeWorks is a professional grade solution for configuring development environments in Android devices.
What Does NVIDIA CodeWorks Consist of?
The NVIDIA CodeWorks toolkit consists of a complete set of GPU and CPU tools that support debugging, profiling and system trace capabilities as well as providing SDKs and libraries for development.
It also comes with Visual Studio 2015 support and improved debugging support for Samsung Android devices in the Nsight Tegra Visual Studio Edition Addon.
Also included are support for NVTX (32 and 64-bit processes) on the Tegra Graphics Debugger 2.1 and various performance improvements and bug fixes. The Tegra System Profiler 2.4 gets an update including backtrace quality improvements and bug fixes. There are also bug fixes in PerfKit 4.5.
This is by no means a comprehensive list of features in the NVIDIA CodeWorks and a full list of features can be found here, however, these tools, APIs and SDKs allow developers to build, debug, analyze and profile their products in either Java, native C/C++ and CUDA 6.5/7.0.
Also available is support for OpenGL ES 2.0, OpenGL ES 3.0, OpenGL ES 3.1, OpenGL ES 3.1 Android Extension Pack and OpenGL 4.x on ARM based SOCs.
NVIDIA GameWorks is NVIDIA’s efforts and works in real-time graphics and game simulation consisting of libraries, development, and debugging tools, support and sample code.
NVIDIA has also made great strides with other products such as the GeForce and Quadro line of GPUs, The The NVIDIA SHIELD family of gaming devices. Several libraries for VisualFX, PhysX, High-end GPU computing through CUDA.
